Mrs. Blanche E. Way, 87, of Sycamore Road, Fishertown, died at 5:25 PM, Tuesday, June 15th, 2010 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. Way was born in Snake Spring Township on Monday, July 17, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Nora (Dishong) Welch.

On July 23, 1954, she married Joseph Donald Way. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1999.
She is survived by Lifelong Friend- Lavern Smith, New Paris; Lifelong Friend- Alma Barefoot, Alum Bank; Caregivers- Sue & Ron Howsare, Fishertown. Blanche was preceded in death by an infant twin sister and a half-brother, Paul Miller

She was a member of Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church. Blanche was employed at Amick's Orchard. She was also a domestic cleaning lady, including cleaning for Dr. Charles Griffiths, Dr. Frank Conn and Dr. John Linvengood. Blanche enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching TV game shows and she loved her cat "Mighty". .

A funeral service will be held at Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church, Fishertown at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 with Rev. Daniel Oldham officiating.

Interment at Fishertown Cemetery .

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at the church.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing.
