                                 OBITUARY                   April 29, 2008

                                                   Byron W. Miller

Mr. Byron W. Miller, age 90, of Rowser Road, New Paris,  , died at 3:05    PM , Sunday, April 27th, 2008 at Altoona Regional Hospital, 

Mr. Miller was born in Napier Township,  on  Friday, January 25, 1918,   the son of the late Roy E. and Edna M. (Kinzey) Miller.

He worked as a welder at U. S. Steel in Johnstown for 36 years.. He was also a lifetime farmer..

Byron was affiliated with the Crossroads Bible Church  and a member of the former Rocklick Community Church.

 He had been a tender caregiver for  his late wife throughout her battle and death from cancer, afterward,  he was a 10 volunteer for Windber Hospice , a wonderful Christian husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather.

Byron was the widower of Lorene E. (Hiteshew)  Miller, whom he married November 15, 1941 and she preceded him in death September 5, 1990..

He is survived by  Daughter- Marilyn F. wife of  C. Robert Daugherty, Bedford; Son- B. Dale husband of  Sharon Kauffman, Schellsburg; Son- Gregory L. (Kathy Miller), New Paris; Sister- LaVerne Shaffer, Schellsburg; Brother- Dayton Miller, Schellsburg; Brother- Mark Miller, New Paris.  Byron is also survived by 7 Grandchildren - Troy, Krista, Shari, Lorne, Brian, Sarah & Stevie along with 12 Great-Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister - Joan Winegardner  & 2 brothers - B. Jay and Clair Miller.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg,  at 11:00  AM on Thursday, May 1st, 2008, with Rev. Mark Dillow ,officiating.
