Mr. Charles E. Coder, 80, of Friendship Village Road, Bedford, formerly of Altoona died at 1:45 PM, Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at Pennknoll Village.

Mr. Coder was born in Altoona on Wednesday, November 6, 1929, the son of the late William and Mae (Mills) Coder.

On August 17, 1951, he married Mary L. (Allmond) Coder. In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Linda L. wife of Dale Brandenburg, Glouster, VA; Son- Charles R. husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Mulhern) Coder, Altoona. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Susan, Steve and Michael, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.

He was of the Methodist Faith. Charles was a school teacher for the Altoona Area for 36 years. He was the Jr. High Football Coach for Roosevelt for many years, leading them to numerous victories, including winning the 1971 Championship.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Interment at Blair Memorial Park, Bellwood.
