Emily M. Elder, 92, of Donahoe Manor Road, Bedford, formerly of Wilmington, DE, died at 11:30 AM, Friday, July 23rd, 2010 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Miss Elder was born in Buffalo Mills on Tuesday, May 7, 1918,  the daughter of the late Walter C. and Alma (Horn) Elder.

She is survived by  Brother- W. Clifford Elder, Buffalo Mills; Sister- Evelyn Wilkins, Cherry Hill, NJ; Brother- Robert B. Elder, Burkburnett, TX.  She was preceded in death by three sisters; Isabel Elder, Olive Stouffer and Edith Lewis and by three brothers; George Elder, John Elder and by an infant, Richard

Emily was a graduate of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and received her Master Degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  Emily was a registered nurse at the Veteran's Hospital in Wilmington, DE.  She had previously served as a nurse for the US Navy during W.W.II. 

A Funeral Service will be held  at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 28th , 2010  with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating.

Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery,  Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
