                                 OBITUARY                                                May 22, 2010

                                     Ivan L. Wentz

Ivan  L.  Wentz,71, of Wayde Road, New Paris, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22nd, 2010 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mr. Wentz was born in Alum Bank on Friday, September 16, 1938, the son of the late R. Myrel and Jennie (Young) Wentz.

He was the husband of Yvonne (Miller) Wentz, whom he married on September, 27, 1958.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- John Robert husband of Angela (Marinari) Wentz, Taos, NM; Daughter- Kathleen Ruth wife of  Michael Swartzwelder, Everett; Very Special Granddaughters- Samantha and Brittany Swartzwelder; Brother- Gene husband of  Thelma Wentz, Martinsburg; Sister- Adilene widow of  Joe Lohr, Bedford; Sister- Janet widow of  Harry Davis, New Paris; Sister-in-Law- Betty widow of  Vernon Wentz; Sister-in-Law- Shirley widow of  Delmar Wentz, Alum Bank.  Ivan is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by  a sister, Melba Leppert; two brothers, Vernon and Delmar; three brothers-in-law, Forrest Leppert, Joe Lohr and Harry Davis; and a Very Special Grandson, Andrew John Wentz

Ivan was an active member of Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren, where he was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and he dearly loved his "Seekers Class".  He served on the Church Board from many years and in many roles.

Ivan sang in the Church Choir and gave the morning message occasionally.

He was a partner of Davis & Wentz Hickory Furniture for over 40 years.  Ivan and Harry worked together so well.

He loved everyone dearly and he will be greatly missed

A Funeral Service will be held  at Dunnings Creek Church of the Brethren at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 26th, 2010 with Rev. and Mrs. Claude and Mary Lou Hall,  officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2:00 - 9:00 PM at the church.
