                                 OBITUARY                                                July 14, 2010

                         Edward T. "Ned"   Millward, Sr

Edward T. "Ned"   Millward, Sr., age 86, of Cove Street, Everett, died at 7:45 PM, Wednesday, July 14th, 2010 at his residence. 

Mr. Millward was born in Nanty Glo on Sunday, January 6, 1924,  the son of the late Arthur and Ellen (Burke) Millward.

On October 28, 1946, he married Mary Jane (May) Millward.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by Son- Joseph G. husband of  Carol (Larese) Millward, Elkton, MD; Son- Edward T. "Ned" Millward, Jr. husband of  Celeste (Oravec) Millward, Everett; Sister- Thelma Dodson, Shippensburg. Ned is also survived by four grandchildren, Cara, Joseph, Bryan and Matthew, and eight great grandchildren, Trevor, Olivia, Carol, Alyssa, Julie, Bryan, Andrew and Jonathan. He was preceded in death by the following siblings: William, Harry, Nonie Werts, Joseph, Arthur, Howard, Richard, Elaine Wurm and Nellie Nairn

Ned was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett. 

He served as PFC with the Battery D 557th Anti Aircraft Artillery in the US Army during W.W.II. 

Ned was employed by Bethlehem Mines Corporation as a Safety Engineer.  He retired as the Director of Safety  and Compensation.    Ned was a member of the Breezewood VFW Post #8333.  He was a Scout Master for over 20 years in the Nanty Glo Area with Troop #87, winning the Silver Beaver Award in Scouting. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, E. 1st Avenue, Everett at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 19th, 2010 with Father Norman Imgrund celebrant. 

Interment will be held at Everett Cemetery. 

Friends are invited to call on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 745 Raystown Road, Everett, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 PM. 

Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Everett Honor Guard.
