OBITUARY June 18, 2008
Roy A. Swan
Roy A. Swan, age 79, of
, Martinsburg, formerly of Orchard Heights, Bedford, died at 10:10 PM , Monday,
June 16th, 2008 at Homewood Retirement Center.
Mr. Swan was born in Brockton, MA, on Thursday, December 6, 1928, son of the
late John A. and Gladys Swan.
He was employed as a manager for Howard Johnson's at the business office, and he
also worked in the office at the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg. Roy was a former
member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, a member of the Bedford Masonic
Lodge # 320, and served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt in WW II.
Mr. Swan was the widower of Dorothy M. (Mansfield) Swan, who preceded him in
death on May 15, 1972.
Roy is survived by Son- Robert W. husband of Debra (Kline) Swan, Liverpool;
Brother- John Swan, MA; Sister- Eleanor, MA. He is also survived by 5
grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Roy A. Swan, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at
10:30 AM on Friday, June 20th, 2008 with Rev. Jeffrey Welsch officiating.
Interment at Bedford Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Thursday 7 - 9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home,
Bedford.
