OBITUARY October 15, 2006
Louis F. Amershek
Louis F. Amershek, 89,
of Carrol’s Rest Home, Lincoln Highway, Bedford, formerly of King Street,
Bedford, died at 10:35 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Pennknoll Village,
Everett.
Mr. Amershek was born in Johnstown on June 21, 1917 the son of the late Michael
and Marie (Wolfing) Amershek.
He worked as a welder and was a supervisor for Bethlehem Steel of Johnstown for
34 years. Louis was an avid fly fisherman and loved the outdoors and gardening.
He was a member of the Polish Falcons, Holy Name Society, the American Legion,
and the Bedford Moose Lodge # 480.
Mr. Amershek was a member of the Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford.
Louis was the husband of Christine “Chrissie” (Zidar) Amershek whom he married
on October 8, 1938.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter Saundra L. Thomas, of
Everett, daughter Alana J. wife of Marco Johnson, of Fairfax, VA, and a
granddaughter Taunya wife of Richard delos Reyes. He was preceded in death by
ten brothers & sister-Michael, Anthony, Mary Belihar, Hannah Umberger, Rudy,
Joseph, Carrie Rininger, Lee, Pauline Barentinicic, and Charles.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday
October 17, 2006 at the Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford at 10:00 AM with
Father Charles Amershek and Father Raymond Crosser celebrant.
A Committial Service will be held at the Saint Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Monday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9PM at the Louis Geisel Funeral
Home, Bedford, where a Vigil For the Deceased will be held at 3:45 PM.
