OBITUARY July 29, 2006
Leah F. Barefoot
Mrs. Leah F. Barefoot, age 90, of Barefoot Road, Alum Bank , died at 8:30 PM , Friday, July 28th, 2006 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.
Mrs. Barefoot was born in Pavia, on Saturday, June 17, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Artie (Claycomb) Berkey.
Leah was a homemaker and also worked as a cook at Fay's Restaurant in Pleasantville the Five Gables Restaurant in Cessna and at the restaurant at the top of Pleasantville mountain. She was the custodian at the former Bedford County Bank in Pleasantville.
She was affiliated with the Faith Brethren Bible Church.
Leah was the widow of Harry F. Barefoot, whom she married February 21, 1935 and he preceded her in death on January 1,1998..
She is survived by Son- Carl R. husband of Alyce Arden, Somerset; Daughter- Beverly J. wife of Wayne Lehman, New Paris; Son- Roy T. husband of Betty Jane Otto, New Paris; Son- Jay C., Silver Spring, MD; Son- Russell S. husband of Wilma Houndshell, Mt. Airy, MD; Son- Byron G. husband of Carolyn Allison, Nokesville, VA; Son- Ronald V., Silver Spring, MD; Brother- Paul Berkey, Imler; Sister- Dorothy Claar, Claysburg; Sister- Alice Fickes, Imler; Sister- Shirley
Davis, Imler. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 9 great -grandchildren.
Leah was preceded in death by a Son - Brant, Brother - Roy, Sister - Mae Hengst and a Sister - in - Law - Violet Barefoot.
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville. at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 1st, with Rev. Alan Brumbaugh officiating.
Interment at Pleasantville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Monday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home.
