                                                   Dr. John W. Cable

 

 

 

 

Dr. John W. Cable, age 76, of Stephens Crossing, Mechanisburg, formerly of Fishertown, died Monday, May 14th, 2007 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA.

Mr. Cable was born in Fishertown, PA on November 13, 1930, he was the son of the late D. Staurt and Margaret (Wolfe) Cable.

He was a retired Colonel in the United States Air Force Veterinary Corp where he served for 22 years. John retired after Ten years of service from the Department of Agriculture, Bureau of animal Industry, in 1980.
Dr. Cable was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, and a Master of Science in Radiation Biology from the University of Rochester.
He was a member of the Bedford Sportsman Club, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Assn., and the Bedford Masonic Lodge # 320 F & A M.

John was the husband of Nancy L. (Koontz) Cable, whom he married on September 2, 1956.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Dr. John W. Cable, Jr husband of Dr. Kimberly K. Harris, Carlisle; Daughter- Dr. Karen L. Cable, Mechanicsburg; Brother- Robert L. Cable, Lewisberry; Numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 1 grandson-John W. Cable III.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 with Rev. Douglas Friant officiating.

Interment at Bedford Cemetery.
