                                                Joseph "Joe" E. Cook

Joseph “Joe” Edward Cook passed away September 29, 2006 just three weeks prior to his 98th birthday. Mr. Cook owned a home on Bedford Street where he resided for over twenty years until, at age 94, he went to live at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born in Colerain Township. After graduating from Bedford High School, he worked for AT&T in Bedford, as well as Virginia, New Mexico and Louisiana before retiring and moving back to Bedford in the nineteen seventies.

Joe was married to the former Ione Morgart also of Colerain Township who preceded him in death in 1993. They built a home in Slidell, Louisiana, a suburb of New Orleans, where they lived for many years. While living in New Orleans Joe was a participant in barbershop quartet activities which he greatly enjoyed. In his later years, after returning to Bedford, Joe enjoyed walking and taking part in the senior activities at the Fort Bedford Inn.

An astute investor he took a great interest in studying and analyzing the market. Joe was also an enthusiastic bowler who was recognized for his continued participation in the sport well into his nineties.

He is survived by three sisters-in-law from the marriage, Vida, Betty and Eileen Morgart

 

Interment at Woods Church Cemetery, Rainsburg
 

Friends are invited to call Thursday from 10:00 AM - Noon at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 PM at the Woods Church in Rainsburg.
