                                 OBITUARY                         August 20, 2007

                                                 Joseph J. Davis Jr.

Mr. Joseph J. Davis, Jr., age 87, of Point Road, Schellsburg, died at 12:25 AM, Monday, August 20th, 2007 at his home.  

Mr. Davis was born in Johnstown, on Tuesday,  January 6, 1920,   the son of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Kaiser) Davis. 

He was an engineer for the Conemaugh & Blacklick Railroad  where he retired after 26 years. 

Joe was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church of  Bedford, and served as a private in the U. S. Army during World War II.

He was a Third Degree member of the  Knights of Columbus, and Bedford American Legion Post #113. 

Joseph was the husband of Virginia C. (Erb)  Davis, whom he married May 6, 1949. 

In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Karen A. Davis, Miami, FL; Son- Edward W. husband of  Susie Weimert, Schellsburg; Daughter- Barbara M. wife of  Doug Belair, LaMarque, TX; Daughter- Janet L. wife of  Barry E. Housel, Fairfield; Son- Joseph R. Davis, Schellsburg. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by a brother - Walter, 2 sisters - Helen & Vera and an infant sister.

A Funeral Mass will be held  at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford. at 10:00  AM on Wednesday, August 22nd,  with Father Donald Dusza, celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at St. Thomas Cemetery Bedford,

Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8  PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, where a  vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday afternoon.
