Gertrude V. Diehl
Mrs. Gertrude V. Diehl,
age 95, of Berlin, formerly of New Baltimore, died at 1:05 PM , Wednesday,
September 27th,
2006 at Windber Medical Center, Windber,
Mrs. Diehl was bom in
Alleghany Township, Somerset County on Sunday, November 6, 1910, she was the
daughter of
the late Charles F. and Grace (Lehman) Fochtman,
Gertie was a
housewife.and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore.
She was the widow of Charles E. "Chap" Diehl, who preceded her in death on October 27, 1985.
Mrs. Diehl is survived by Son- Robert Fochtman husband of Doris Shippey, New Baltimore; Son- Charles E. Diehl, Jr
husband of Eileen McGouey, Vernon, NJ; Daughter- Linda Diehl, Harrisburg; Sister- Sylvia Mowry, Johnstown. She is
also Survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
Gertie was preceded in death by a granddaughter- Connie Kay Fochtman, 3 brothers- Clarence, Edmund and Alfred
Fochtman; 3 sisters -
Irene Hankinson, Margaret'Burkett and Kathleen Marshall.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John
the Baptist Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 2nd, with Father
Alien Zeth, celebrant.
Committal Services will be held at St.
Johns Cemetery, New Baltimore.
Friends are invited to call Sunday 2 to
4 & 7 to 9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
A vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
