                                                 Mrs. Laverne Diehl

 

 

 

Mrs. LaVerne Diehl, age 84, of Shippy Road, Manns Choice, , died at 10:25 PM , Friday, July 21st, 2006 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.

Mrs. Diehl was born in Fairhope, Somerset County on Sunday, May 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late J. Earl and Helen V. (Hartge) Coughenour.

She was a housewife, and a member of the former St. Marks United Church of Christ of New Buena Vista.

LaVerne was the widow of Blair R. Diehl, whom she married March 12, 1938 and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2006.

Mrs. Diehl is survived by Daughter- Emma Jean wife of Edwin Smith, Fishertown; Daughter- Joyce wife of Dean Horner, Summerdale; Daughter- Wilma wife of Paul Horner, Jr., Schellsburg; Son- Wayne husband of Kay Leister, Bedford; Daughter- Laura Sue wife of Donald Stewart, Kittaning; Sister- June Landis, Berlin. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.

LaVerne was preceded in death by a brother - Jay Coughenour.

 

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday ay 11:00 AM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, with Revs. Kerry Kathers, and Phillip Steele officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford.
