                                                 Robert F. Fochtman

 

 


Mr. Robert F. Fochtman, age 76, of Juniata Street, New Baltimore, died at 6:48 AM ,Wednesday, February 28th, 2007 at Conemaugh Medical Center, Johnstown,

Mr. Fochtman was born in Windber, on Wednesday May 28, 1930, the son of the late Gertrude V. (Fochtman) Diehl.

He worked as a mechanic for 35 years at Bethlehem Steel Corporation in Johnstown...

Robert was a life long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Baltimore, a member of the New Baltimore Sportsmans Club, Schellsburg VFW Post # 4440, and the United Steelworkers of America.

Bob was the husband of Doris Fay (Shippy) Fochtman, whom he married on September 9, 1950..

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Robert F. "Bobby" Fochtman husband of Rose Marie Restley, Dover; Son- Thomas Lee Fochtman husband of Rhonda Claycomb, Windsor; Son- Bradley James Fochtman husband of Connie Claycomb, Felton; Son- David Lynn Fochtman, Alexandria, VA; Son- Brian Keith Fochtman husband of Michele Arnold, Berlin; Half- Brother Charles E. "Chappie" Diehl and wife Eileen of Vernon, NJ; Half -Sister- Linda Diehl, of Harrisburg. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
Bob is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. and was preceded in death by a Daughter - Connie Kay Fochtman, Step-father - Charles "Chap" Diehl. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather & great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 3rd, with Father Allen Zeth, celebrant.

Committal Services will be held at St. Johns Church Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call Friday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Foundation or to St. Johns Church in New Baltimore.
