OBITUARY April 19, 2007
Wilson A. Gates
Wilson A. Gates, age 79, of South Richard Street, Bedford, PA., formerly of
Friends Cove and Sebring FL., died at 2:27 PM , Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 at
Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.
Mr. Gates was born in St. Clairsville, PA on September 21, 1927, he was the son
of the late Bruce and Sarah (Mock) Gates.
Wilson was a truck driver for Continental, Interstate, and then retired from
Kelly-Springfield Tire Company after 20 years of driving. He was a member of the
Friends Cove United Church of Christ, the Bedford Moose Lodge # 480, a life
member of the Bedford American Legion Post # 113, a life member of the DAV, and
was president of the Larynxoctemy Club in Sebring, FL.
Mr. Gates served in the U.S. Army as a Private in WW II.
He was the husband of Marie (Hartman) Gates, whom he married on June 4, 1948.
In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Trudy E. wife of Cletus
Robinson, Norristown; Sister- Rose Ann Bowser, Bedford; Sister- Gladys
Henderson, Bedford; Brother- Harry Gates, New Paris. He is also survived by 2
grandchildren-Cletus Wilson Robinson, and Kamacia Robinson.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Greggory, and a brother William.
A funeral service will be held at Louis
Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 21st, 2007 with
Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating.
Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.
Friends are invited to call Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home,
Bedford.
