OBITUARY June 5, 2007
Elizabeth J. "Betsy" Hillegass
Mrs. Elizabeth J. "Betsy" Hillegass, age 81, of Hillegass Road, Schellsburg, , died at 9:00 PM , Monday, June 4th, 2007 at Pennknoll Village where she resided for 7 months.
Mrs. Hillegass was born in West St. Clair Township, on Saturday, September 12, 1925, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Olive (Wentz) Potts. She however was reared by the late John & Sara Wentz., .
She was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg, a housewife and a cafeteria worker at the at former Schellsburg Elementary School..
Betsy was quite a lover of her cats and delighted in collecting ceramic churches and church post cards..
She was the widow of John M. Hillegass, who preceded her in death January 17, 1999 after a marriage union of 54 years..
Betsy is survived by Son- Michael J.Hillegass husband of Janis "Fran" Grubb, Schellsburg; Brother- William Potts, Harrisburg. She is also survived by a grandson - Chad Hillegass husband of Monica Faupel, granddaughter - Mandy J. wife of Brian Shroyer, two great-grandchildren Brennen Shroyer & Madison Hillegass, all of Schellsburg, along with a number of nieces & nephews and a special friend - Margie Taliaferro. She was preceded in death by a sister; Cora Replogle.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, . at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 8th 2007, with Rev. Ruth Shaver & Rev. Dr. Merle Correll officiating.
Interment at Schellsburg Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Thursday 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg..
