                                               Robert Merle Hoagland

Mr. Robert Merle Hoagland, age 72, of Shed Road, Bedford, died at 6:07 PM , Friday, March 23rd, 2007 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Hoagland was born in Bedford Township, on Monday, February 18, 1935, the son of the late Kenneth and Ruby (Thompson) Hoagland.

He was a retired Truck driver for at ABF Trucking, Carolina Freight and Halls Motor Freight.. Merle also was a former co-owner along with his wife of the Hodge Podge Craft Shop in Bedford and Bedford Beverage..

He was a lifetime member of St. Johns Christian Church at Cessna, where he had served on the church council..

Merle was the husband of Dorothy Jean "Dottie" (Davenport) Corle - Hoagland, whom he married June 4, 1965.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Gregory Hoagland, Boise, Idaho; Son- Timothy Hoagland husband of Beth Ann Barnell, Harrisburg; Son- Terry Corle and companion Pat Chalfant, Carlisle; Son- Rusty Corle husband of Debra Hearn, Bedford; Daughter- Ivy (Corle) wife of Victor Ritchey, Bedford; Brother- Kenneth Keith Hoagland, Las Vegas, NV; Brother- Samuel Hoagland and wife Judy, Bedford. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at St. Johns Christian Church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 27th, with Pastor Eric Larson officiating.

Burial in Bedford County Memorial Park , Bedford,.

Friends are invited to call Monday 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 AM until time of service.
