OBITUARY December 29, 2006
Frances C. Kegg
Mrs. Frances C. Kegg,
age 95, of Wertz Street, Manns Choice, died at 1:17 AM , Friday, December 29th,
2006 at her
home..
Mrs. Kegg was born in
Harrison Township, Bedford County, on Monday, March 20, 1911, the daughter of
the late
Ambrose A. and Veda Laura (Miller) Hyde.
She was employed as a
secretary for the former Manns Choice Confectionary Company.. the Harrison
Township School
Board and the Lancaster Pump Company of Lancaster. Mrs. Kegg was the first
female timekeeper for Midvale Steel
Company of Philadelphia, and was a business graduate of Beckley College of
Harrisburg.
A former member of
Trinity United Church of Christ and present member of Grace United Church of
Christ of Manns
Choice, she was a life member of the OES Bedford Springs Chapter, an active
member of the Pioneer Historical Society
of Bedford, and the Manns Choice Senior Citizens..
She was the wife of Roy
F. Kegg, whom she married December 31, 1932.
In addition to her
husband she is survived by Daughter- Nina L. wife of Thomas E. Hendrix,
Allendale, Ml; Sister-
Amanda Pauline wife of Charles Briggle, Queen. , and 6 great grandchildren
Frances is also survived by 3 grandchildren
- J. Michael Hendrix, Susan wife of William Doughty, and Lorian wife of Kevin
Sutler, along with 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters- Bertha Benna and 2 infants, 2 brothers -
Clarence & Reynold Hyde.
A Funeral Service will be held at Grace
United Church of Christ at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 1st, 2007 with Rev.
Loyal Kelso officiating.
Interment at Milligans Cove Cemetery,
Buffalo Mills.
Friends are invited to call Sunday 2 to
4 & 6 to 8 PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg and on Monday at the
church from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Trinity of Grace United Church of Christ of Manns Choice or or the Pioneer
Historical Society of Bedford.
