                                 OBITUARY                    April 9, 2007

                                             Robert "Bob" Mearl Long

Robert Mearl "Bob" Long, age 73, of Hoagland Road, Bedford, PA , died at 8:08 PM , Saturday, April 7th, 2007 at UPMC Bedford Memorial.
Mr. Long was born in Defiance, PA on May 17, 1933, he was the son of the late Mearl T. and Charlotte (Lynn) Long.

He was a dispatcher for Eastern Express of Bedford, and worked with his son at Long's Florist in the Greenhouse. Bob also delivered flowers for In Loving Touch Flower Shop in Bedford. Robert was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Friends Cove, and was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post # 113 and the Bedford VFW Post # 7527. Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman. He will be greatly missed, he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Long served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. during the Korean Conflict.

Bob was the husband of M. Darlene "Toots" (Fix) Long, whom he married on September 15, 1954.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Dwayne M. "Jungle" husband of Doris (Imler) Long, Bedford; Daughter- Debra wife of Robert Franco, Verona; Daughter- Wendy S. Long, Bedford; Brother- Charles Long, Six Mile Run; Brother- John Long, Six Mile Run; Brother- Lanny Long, Six Mile Run; Sister- Evelyn Gonsmon, Six Mile Run. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren-Arica Wilson, Brandon Long, Nicole Grimes, Samantha Long.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 11th, 2007 with Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park, Bedford, PA.

Friends are invited to call Tuesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
