OBITUARY November 10, 2007
William H. Miller
Mr. William H. Miller, age 82, of Quaker Valley Road, New Paris, passed away at 10:35 PM , Friday, November 9th, 2007 at Altoona Hospital,
Mr. Miller was born in East St. Clair Township, on Tuesday, June 30, 1925, the son of the late Howard and Sara (Bender) Miller.
He retired from the maintenance department of General Refractories at Sproul where he worked for 40 years..
He was affiliated with the Alum Bank United Methodist Church, a life member and charter member of the Pleasantville VFW Post # 9219. A founding member and treasurer for 25 years, of the Alum Bank Community Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Claysburg American Legion Post #0522..
He served in the U.S. Navy as a Signalman 3rd class. during World War II.
Bill was the husband of Harriet O. (Claycomb) Miller, whom he married December 2, 1948..
In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Sandra L. wife of Joseph Z. Claycomb, Osterburg; Son- Gary L. husband of Vicki L. Custer, New Paris; Daughter- Sheri K. wife of William Feight, Jr., Bedford; Sister- Mary Yates, Greencastle. Bill is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, 3 Step-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Step-Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 Sisters - Ruth Watkins and Helen Feaster. Bill enjoyed his grandchildren, NASCAR racing, Steelers football, and was a loving husband, father, & grandfather who will be deeply missed by all.
Private Services will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville. on Monday, November 12th, 2007, with Rev. Charles Jack officiating.
Interment at Fishertown Cemetery.
