                                 OBITUARY                         September 25, 2007

                                                     Jean E. Pope

Mrs. Jean E. Pope, age 82, of  Graystone Court, Bedford,  went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 24th, 2007 from her home.

Mrs. Pope was born in East Freedom,  on  Friday, August 28, 1925,   the daughter of the late Van Amberg and Mae (Phillips) Miller.

.She was a member of The United Church of Schellsburg and was a homemaker

 She attended school in Schellsburg and was a proud member of the Schellsburg VFW Post#4440 Ladies Auxiliary.  Roy and she resided in many locations in their travels around the world, including Trinidad and Vietnam, where she taught English to Chinese students.  They returned to Bedford County after retiring.  Jean strongly believed in the importance of family including her friends, church family and her new family at Graystone Court..

Jean was the widow of LeRoy H. Pope, whom she married  December 22, 1943, and he preceded her in death in April of 2003..

She is survived by  Daughter- Elizabeth Pope Williams, Glen Burnie, MD; Daughter- Saundra wife of  Rodger Claycomb, Smithville, MO; Daughter- Jeanie wife of  Eddie Suddreth, Glen Burnie, MD; Daughter- Suzanne wife of  Howard Stephens, Snow Hill, MD; Son- LeRoy H. Pope II, Glen Burnie, MD; Brother- James P. and wife Betty , Bedford.  Jean is also survived by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and much loved nieces & nephews.   She was preceded in death by an infant son - Patrick, 2 brothers - Sewell and John C. "Pete" Miller.

A Funeral Service will be held  at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg,  at 11:00   AM on Friday, September 28th,  2007 with Rev. Ruth Shaver officiating.

Interment  at  Schellsburg Cemetery.

 Friends are invited to call Thursday  2 to 4 & 7 to 9    PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.
