OBITUARY
August 1, 2007
Fred D. Roland
Fred D. Roland, age 83, of Tatesville Road, Everett, PA , died at 1:00 PM ,
Wednesday, August 1st, 2007 at home.
Mr. Roland was born in Clearville, PA on August 19, 1923, the son of the
late Charles and Olive (McFarland) Roland. He was a toll collector for the
PA Turnpike for 11 years, he was employed at Kelly Springfield in
Cumberland, MD for 10 years, and then he retired from Bedford County Oil
Company. Fred was a member of the Everett VFW Post # 2088, and the Everett
American Legion Post # 8, a life member of the Air Defense Team, and he
enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Roland was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1944, he served in
the U.S. Army as a Cpl in WW II, having passed for pilot training and made
2nd LT.
Fred was the husband of Marjorie M. (Foor) Roland, whom he married on
December 23, 1961.
In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- John husband of Brenda
(Cornell) Roland, Everett; Son- Scott husband of Lezli (Miller) Roland,
Everett; Daughter- Lisa wife of Dewy College, Everett; Cousin- Judy
May-Bennett, Chambersburg. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren-Brandi
Roland & fiancé Rich Owens, Tiffany Roland, Ashley College, Dustin College,
Brandon College, and RG husband of Amanda (Swope) Taylor. He is also
survived by several half brothers and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at
10:00 AM on Saturday, August 4th, 2007 with Rev. Richard B. Fluke II
officiating.
Interment at Frame Church Cemetery, Black Valley.
Friends are invited to call Friday 4 - 8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home,
Bedford.
