                                                    Carl E. Smith Sr.

Mr. Carl E. Smith, Sr., age 86, of Sloans Hollow Road, Bedford, died at 3:30 PM , Friday, September 29th, 2006 at
Pennknoll Village,
 

Mr. Smith, Sr. was born in Napier Township, on Sunday, February 15, 1920, he was the son of the late Draper and
Gladys (Amick) Smith.
 

He was a dedicated life long farmer and showman of cattle for Falklands Farm of Schellsburg.. He was also a retired
employee of Lane Metal Products of Cessna.. and a member of Sloans Hollow United Methodist Church.
Carl was the husband of Edith P. (Fleegle) Smith, whom he married April 22, 1941 and she preceded him in death on
August 16,2004..
 

He is survived by Son- Carl E. Smith, Jr. husband of Melda Miller, Schellsburg; Son- James H. Smith husband of Louise
Corle, New Paris; Daughter- Bonnie L. Reed, Schellsburg; Son- Robert W. Smith, New Paris; Son-William D. Smith
husband of June Fisher, Schellsburg; Daughter- Susan E. wife of Dave Ferguson, Bedford; Son - Timothy A. Smith
husband of Mary Beth Payne, Bedford; Daughter-in-law - Bonnie (Diehl)' Smith, Bedford; Brother- Cloy Smith,
Fishertown; Sister- Jean Foor, Schellsburg; Brother- Donald Smith, Alum Bank; Sister- Helen Robinette, Schellsburg;
Sister- Joann Claycomb, Mount Airy, MD. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 40 great -grandchildren, a great -great
-grandson.
 

Carl was preceded in death by a son - Samuel R. Smith, daughter - Deborah Leonard, Grandson - Thomas, 2
great-grandchildren - Faith & Michael along with 2 brothers - Ross and Harry Smith.
 

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 3rd, with
Rev. Raymond Hill officiating.
 

Interment at Stone Church Cemetery, Fishertown, .
 

Friends are invited to call Monday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville
