                                                    Mabel S. Smith

Mrs. Mabel S. Smith, age 99, of Fishertown, and formerly of Manns Choice, died at 5:00 AM , Saturday, September
22nd, 2007 at Donahoe Manor, Bedford.

Mrs. Smith was born in Punxsutawney, on Friday, November 15, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and
Mary (Shearer) Whitfield.
 

She worked as a secretary at for Millville Mutual Insurance Company in Millville. was a member of the Trinity Lutheran
Church of Bedford, and a graduate of Johnstown High School and Cambria Rowe Business College.
 

Mabel spent many of her later years crocheting lap robes and blankets for relatives and friends in the church and
community.
 

She was the widow of Rev- R. Eugene Smith, whom she married June 2, 1934 and he preceded her in death on
February 11, 1979..
 

She is survived by Sister- Jean Grumbling, East China. Ml; Sister-in-law Mabel wife of Harold McCoy, Fishertown. With
no children of her own, she and her husband reared Gene Gordner, now of Kalispell, Montana. Also surviving - nephew
-Robert Grumbling of East China, Ml; Tom Whitfield of Stow, Ohio Nieces - Sara Baker of Cleveland, Ohio and Patricia
Johnson of Stow, Ohio, She is the aunt of Richard McCoy of Fishertown and his children Brian of Roaring Spring and
wife Betty and their children Mandy, Michelle, Brian and Jill. Gregg and wife Diane and children Janelle, Brooke, Stefanie
and Justin. Donald McCoy and wife Lois, their children, Troy & Todd of New Paris, Brent McCoy of Fishertown and Doris
Caldwell and husband Clarence of Shanksville, their children, Jeffrey, Vicki, Kristina, Gretchen, Martha and Peter.
 

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 25th,
2007 with Rev. Clarence Caldwell, officiating.
 

Interment at Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, .
 

Friends are invited to call Tuesday one hour prior to service at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville.
