                                                   Vicki M. Smith

 

 

 

Vicki M. Smith, 44, formerly of Bedford died Wednesday, March 05, 2008, at Pennknoll Village as a result of a brain aneurysm she suffered in January 2007. She was born in Huntingdon, PA on Friday, July 26, 1963, daughter of Rev. Charles F. Rhodes of Fishertown and the late Geraldine (Corbin) Weaverling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary L. Smith, November 18, 2007, her mother, and her step-father, John Weaverling, all of Bedford. She is survived by her daughter Heidi (Beegle) wife of Timothy Wood of Bordentown, NJ, her first grandchild due to be born in July 2008, and three step- children Julie Scritchfield, Todd Smith, and Lindsey Foster. She is also survived by a sister, Carol, married to Walter Allen of Union Bridge, MD, a sister Sandra, married to Roy Creswell of Huntingdon, a sister Linda, married to Richard Fisher of Fishertown, a brother Charles Rhodes married to Ramona (Weyant) of Fishertown, a sister Tonya married to Denne Osman of Alum Bank, and the following nieces and nephews, Wally and Chris Allen, Brian and Nicole Rhodes, Shelly Blackburn, Shawn and Shayna Clark, and numerous great nieces and nephews. She spent a great deal of time with one great-nephew Brady, who will always remember being spoiled rotten by his beloved "Aunt Vic".

Vicki graduated from Chestnut Ridge High School in 1981 and achieved an Associate Degree in Business Management from Allegany College of Maryland. She was employed by Wal-Mart in Everett and loved working in the electronics department. She also loved restoring and taking photographs and was especially proud that one of her photos was featured on the cover of the October 2006 Bedford County Embarq phone book. After losing her mother to cancer, Vicki also faithfully participated in the annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Vicki's

cheerful personality and zest for life will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Friends and family will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home in Pleasantville. The funeral services will be held on Saturday March 8, 2008at 11:00 AM at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church with the Rev. Daniel Oldham officiating. There will be a period for visitation and viewing a half hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment in Pleasantville Cemetery.
