Homer W. Turner, age 84, of Egolf Road, Bedford, died at 3:26 AM , Wednesday, January 16th, 2008 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Homer was born in Juniata Twp., Bedford County, on Tuesday, June 12, 1923, the son of the late Fred O. and Vernie (Horne) Turner. He was a farmer, he retired from Bedford Farm Bureau in 1988 after working there for 10 years, and he drove school bus for 30 years.

Mr. Turner was a member of the Charlesville Grange for over 40 years, Bedford County Pomona Grange, and the Friends Cove United Church of Christ. Homer was a Colerain Township Republic Committeeman for over 30 years, and a Colerain Township Supervisor for 12 years. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening, and playing with his dogs. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was the husband of Eva (Croyle) Turner, whom he married on October 12, 1946.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Walter W. husband of Arlene Turner, Cannonsburg; Son- Richard G. Turner, Altoona; Special Friend Judy Anderson, Hagerstown, MD; Brother- Harvey Turner, Bedford; Sister- Anna Swartzwelder, Bedford; Sister- Mae Fetterman, Schellsburg; Brother- Robert Turner, Schellsburg. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren-Amy Eddy and husband Joe, Kara Felix, Jennifer crum and husband Dale, Suzanne Turner, & Lin Turner, and 6 great grandchildren-Katie, Shanie, Abigail, Molly Sue, Maddi, and Steve.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 with Rev. Paul Claycomb officiating.

Interment at Schellsburg Cemetery.
