                                                        Eva Vargo

Mrs. Eva Vargo, age 80, of Alum Bank, died at 10:55 PM , Wednesday, August 30th, 2006 at The Village at Morrisons Cove in Martinsburg, Blair County, .

Mrs. Vargo was born in Paint Township, on Saturday, October 24, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Fedor and Helen (Kimock) Gerula.

She was a housewife.and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church of Bedford.

She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pleasantville VFW Post #9219 and the Bedford Moose Lodge # 480.

Eva was the wife of Steve Vargo, whom she married June 13, 1943.

In addition to her husband she is survived by Son- Leonard S. husband of Jane Garda, Pittsburgh; Son- James L. husband of Carmen Luz Lohman, Houston TX; Daughter- Helen "Sis" M. Turner, Altoona; Sister- Margaret Latchney, Windber; Sister- Mary Fox, Fallentimber; Sister- Helen Oldham, Fishertown; Brother- Pete Gerula, Windber; Brother- John Gerula, Windber; Sister- Pauline Koval, New York. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren & 2 step-great-grandchildren. Eva was preceded in death by 4 brothers - Mike, Paul, Andrew and Frank; 3 sisters - Ann Dahut, Verna Miller, Catherine Stofoko, and a number of infant brothers and sisters.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 2nd, with Father Donald Dusza officiating.

Committal Services will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call Friday 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3:00 PM Friday.
