                                                     Harry E. Wertz

Harry E. Wertz, age 70, of Taylor Road, Hustontown, PA , formerly of Bedford, died at 3:47 PM , Monday, October 30th, 2006 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital, Snake Spring Twp., Bedford County, PA.

Mr. Wertz was born in Bedford, PA on May 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Herman and Annie Elizabeth (Sutherly) Wertz.

He was in the US Army for 40 years. During those 40 years he was a Military Policeman and later a mechanic. Harry was a member of the McConnellsburg American Legion Post # 561, the McConnellsburg FOVA, and visited the Hustontown Senior Center. He loved visiting his family and friends, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and the outdoors. Mr. Wertz was affiliated with the Knobsville United Methodist Church.

Harry is survived by his Daughter- Elizabeth "Beth" A. wife of Kevin D. Hoffman, Harrisonville; Son- David E. Wertz and Tracy , Bedford; Step Daughter- Lola Claycomb, Breezewood; Step Son- Charles Horsh, Bedford; Sister- Shirley Hann, Bedford; Sister- Dorothy Price, Bedford; Sister- Betty Swartzlander, Lewisburg; Brother- Tom Wertz, LA. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter. Harry is survived by his former wife Bonnie (Stiffler) Wertz, of Bedford, and was preceded in death by brothers-Joe, & Jim, and sisters-Nellie South, and Mary Baker.

A funeral service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, PA. at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 2nd, 2006 with the Rev. Rick Robinson officiating.

Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park Bedford, PA.

Friends are invited to call Wednesday 1 - 3 PM and 7 - 9 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
