OBITUARY November 3, 2006
Richard L. Weyant
Richard "Dick" Weyant, 73, Sarasota, FL and formerly from Bedford and Blair counties in PA, died on November 2, 2006, after fighting an eighteen
month battle with cancer.
Dick was born September 25, 1933 in Bedford County, PA, moved to Martinsburg, PA in 1958 and managed Cove Auto Supply, Roaring Spring, PA, then moved to Sarasota, FL in 1981 where he managed a group of auto
parts stores along the Gulf Coast until his retirement in 1996. After retirement he enjoyed a part time job at The Ringling Museum of Art. He
was a member of Pine Grove Methodist Church, Fishertown, PA and also attended Curryville Church of the Brethren, Curryville, PA. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge 539 & American Legion, Roaring Spring, PA, and The Morrisons Cove Lodge, Potter County, PA. He graduated from
Schellsburg Napier High School class of 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Dick was reared as a son by his grandparents, the former Alvey and Vennie Weyant of RD New Paris, PA. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carol
(Earnest), son Rodger of Alpharetta, GA, daughter Kimberly Feathers and son Alan Weyant of Sarasota, FL, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson,
brothers Douglas and Russell Nichols, and sister Susan Conant of the Detroit, MI area. Preceding him in death were 2 infant sons, his mother
Letha (Weyant) Nichols and brother Gary Nichols.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday November 11, beginning 12:00 PM, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM at the Mickle-Geisel
Funeral Home in Schellsburg, PA.
Interment services will be held at the Fishertown Cemetery immediately following services.
