Mrs. Betty J. Furmanchick, 96, of Sunnyside Road, Bedford, passed away Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at Maybrook Hills Nursing Center in Altoona.

Mrs. Furmanchick was born in Imlertown on March 12, 1921,  she was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Margaret (Darr) Thomas.

Betty married Steve Furmanchick in 1943 and her death ends a marriage union of 74 years.

In addition to her husband she is survived her brother, O. Kirby Thomas, Garfield, TX.  She was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Heather in June of this year.

Betty was a member of the Pleasant Hills Bible Church in Bedford.  She was a registered nurse and started her career  in the Windber Hospital and then was employed by Bedford Memorial Hospital until her retirement.

Betty was a kind and gentle Christian Woman with a great love for the Lord and she is now joyously spending her time with her daughter and the Lord in her heavenly home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on August 11, 2017 at Louis Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor Shawn McGill officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Bedford.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Arrangements entrusted to Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
