Mr. Merle S. Way, 86, of Adams Run Road, New Paris, died at 9:27 PM, Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Way was born in E. St. Clair Township on Tuesday, October 13, 1925, the son of the late Cloyd and Sarah (Oster) Way.
On May 14, 1950, he married Pauline G. (Lewis) Way. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Kenneth M. Way, N. Myrtle Beach, SC; Daughter- Karen G. wife of Steve Sotirokos, New Paris; Son- Kelvin P. husband of Valerie (Sotirokos) Way, Bedford; Daughter- Kenda I. wife of Robert McVicker, Alum Bank; Brother- Vaughn "Sonny" Way, Fishertown; Sister- Anna Louise "Betty" Hoover, Bedford. He is also survived by seven grandsons, Phillip, Andrew, Jarrod, Adam, Brandon, Ben and Bryce, and one great granddaughter, Jocelyn. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold Way, Warren Way, Grant Way, Cloyd Way, Jr. and Paul Way and by five sisters, Lois Weyant, Marian Mullin, Effie Kline, Iva Feathers and Geraldine Way
Merle served in the US Army during W.W.II. He was employed for 19 years as a truck driver for Lane Metal until his retirement. Merle enjoyed fishing with his grandsons and playing cards with his family. .
A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Pleasantville at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 6th, 2012 with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.
Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
