Mr. James H. Taylor, 70, of Preston Street,  Bedford, died at 3:40 AM, Friday, July 20th, 2012 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.

Mr. Taylor was born in New Brighton on Friday, August 22, 1941, the son of the late Alfred B. and Edith M. (Pifer) Taylor.

On June 30, 1998, he married Doris (Himmler) Taylor. In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Scott husband of Laurel Taylor, Germantown, MD; Daughter- Susan wife of  Tom DesRoches, Frederick, MD; Daughter- Tracy wife of  Donald Goglio, Martinsburg, WV; Step Son- Mark Himmler, Bedford; Step Son- David husband of  Barb Himmler, Bedford; Step Son- Brian husband of  Lori Himmler, Piscataway, NJ. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Austin Taylor, Leslie Taylor, Renee DesRoches and Michael DesRoches, and four step grandchildren, Justin Himmler, Kristie Himmler, Kurtis Himmler and Laura Himmler.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth D. Taylor.  

James attended the Bedford United Methodist Church and was a graduate of New Brighton High School.  He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1962.  James retired from the United States Department of Commerce after 38 years of employment.  

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford  with Rev, Jeff Welsch and Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be held at  St. Paul's Cemetery.

Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to Home Nursing Hospice Care, 227 Hospital Drive, Suite 2, Everett, PA 15537
