Alice M. (Gagne) Hartle

Mrs. Alice May (Gagne) Hartle, 89, of Main Street, Alum Bank, died Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at Lake Norman Regional Hospital, Mooresville, NC.

Mrs. Hartle was born in Johnstown on April 17, 1928,  the daughter of the late Alfred and Margaret L. (Rouser) Gagne.

She is survived by  Son- Dr. Edgar Owen Hartle husband of  Michele (Jordan) Hartle, Davidson, NC; Daughter- Susan (Hartle) wife of  Jim Sharbaugh, Bowie, MD; Daughter- Marcia (Hartle) wife of  Harish Senapathy, Urbana, MD; Sister- Martha Boring, Johnstown.  She is also survived by the following grandchildren; Nathan and his wife, Amy, Lauren, Chris, Jordan, Joel and Kris Owen.

Alice married Owen Edgar Hartle in June of 1948.  They lived briefly in Johnstown before moving to Alum Bank, where Owen served as a long term post master.   Owen preceded her in death in 1990.  Alice was a wonderful homemaker with a strong Christian Faith.  She was a former member of the Alum Bank United Methodist Church.  Alice loved being a wife and mother and enjoyed singing, writing, painting, and cooking.  She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, sister, and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc, Pleasantville, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 with Pastor Virgil Frazier officiating.

Interment will be held at Pleasantville Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
