Betty M. (Miller) Checkeye

Mrs. Betty M. Checkeye, 86, of Alum Bank died Sunday, April 8th, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.

Mrs. Checkeye was born in New Paris on August 9, 1931,  the daughter of the late Norman R. and Prudence (Fleegle) Miller.

On May 9, 1951, she married Joseph Checkeye.  He preceded her in death on October 22, 2000.

She is survived by  Son- Joseph A. Checkeye and fiancee Melissa Emerick, Alum Bank; Son- Gary G. husband of Peggy (Claar) Checkeye, Alum Bank; Sister- Doris Richendollar, Orlando, FL; Son-in-Law- Scott Mummert. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Melissa, Darcy, Lakyn & Scotlyn, and three great grandchildren, Evan, Chandra  & Kameron. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Mummert and the following siblings; Cubin Miller, Ardis Meyers, Amber Dull, Maxine Robb, Albert Miller, Henry Miller, Sylvia Miller, Robert Miller, Ethel Kinzey, Geraldine Miller, Erdine Miller and Donald Miller.

Betty worked as both a housekeeper and a domestic caregiver.  She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a caring sister & aunt and a loyal friend.  Betty will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 13th, 2018 with Pastor Tim Mock officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday, April 12th, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home in Pleasantville.
