Betty J. (Mowry) Ressler

Bedford

Betty J. Ressler, 84, of Ross Drive, Friendship Village, Bedford, passed away Friday, June 8th, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mrs. Ressler was born in Bedford, on April 30, 1934,  the daughter of the late Ross and Elva (Risbon) Mowry.

Betty was an avid sports fan, she was a Steeler and Pirate fan, and took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren play Bedford School Sports. She was a member of  Friendship Missional Church in Friendship Village.

She was the widow of Clyde A. Ressler, whom she married March 18, 1951 and he preceded her in death on November 10, 2016.  Betty was co-owner/operator of Resslers Exxon for many years with Clyde.


She is survived by  Son- Terry husband of  Frances (Martonik) Ressler, Clarkston, MI; Daughter- Sharon Beaupre, Bedford; Son- Barry husband of  Barbara (Fink) Ressler, Bedford; Daughter- Karen wife of  Alan Karns, Bedford; Sister- Maribel Zimmerman, Bedford.  She is also survived by 7 grandchildren-Kristi, Kerry, Jason, Todd, Jason, Matthew, and Jessica, 10 great grandchildren-Dylan, Steven, Justin, Kevin, Ellie, Kendall, Adeline, James, John and Jagger.  Betty was preceded in death by her brother John Mowry.

A funeral service will be held  at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford,  at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018 with Pastor Ken Rhodes officiating.


Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call Monday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
