Clyde H. Whetstone, 81, of Milligans Cove Road, Manns Choice, died at 8:25 PM, Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Pennknoll Village, Snake Spring Twp.
Clyde was born in Bedford on January 17, 1937, son of the late Harold and Gladys (Diehl) Whetstone.
On January 4, 1960, Clyde married Jean G. (Gesell) Whetstone.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Daughter- Sue Arcuri wife of Jim, Enola; Son- Donald "Stub" Whetstone, fiancé Michelle Sparks, Dauphin; Granddaughter- Emily Barge wife of Brent; Grandson- Dylan Whetstone; Grandson- Alex Arcuri, fiancé Mackenzie Christiana; and Great-Grandson- Lucas Clyde Whetstone; Sister- Florence Ritchey, New Enterprise; Sister- June Mountain wife of Charles, New Enterprise; Sister- Margaret Wachter, New Enterprise. Clyde is preceded in death by Brother- David, Brother- Lee, Brother- Ed, Sister- Mary Ann Barger, Sister- Mildred Harr, and Brother-Harry.
Clyde was an owner/operator truck driver for over 28 years. He enjoyed farming, machinery, working on tractors, and spending time outdoors. Clyde could fix anything he set out to fix. He was also known for making homemade apple butter and ice cream, two family favorites. He was a member of Bedford American Legion Post #113 and the Schellsburg VFW. Clyde served in the U.S. Army from 1957 -1959.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10-Noon at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford.
A Memorial Service will be held at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Noon Reverend Paul Claycomb officiating.
