Dorsey Roy Wertz

June 24, 1946 — February 14, 2018

Mr. Dorsey Roy  Wertz, 71, of Mill St., Schellsburg, died Wednesday, February 14th, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.

Mr. Wertz was born in Harrison Township on June 24, 1946,  the son of the late Dorsey and Crystal Irene (Hale) Wertz.

On June 11, 1984, he married Jane (McCreary) Wertz.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Son- Dorsey A. husband of Elizabeth (Toke) Wertz, Buffalo Mills; Sister- Margaret wife of  Joseph McCreary, Schellsburg; Nieces- Amy, Sherri and Jennifer.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Wertz and a niece, Mary.

Roy served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong farmer and  he was employed as a machinist for Exact Level for years.  Roy was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend and he will be greatly missed   .

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 17th,  2018 with Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating.

Interment will be held at Milligans Cove Cemetery, Buffalo Mills. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday form 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg
