Mr. Harvey F. Thomas, 86, of West Lane, Schellsburg, died Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 at Pennknoll Village.

Mr. Thomas was born in Somerset on July 17, 1931,  the son of the late Franklin H. and Gwendolyn F. (Dunmyer) Thomas.

On May 16, 1998, he married Delores M. (Campbell) Gould-Thomas. In addition to his wife he is survived by Step Son- Jeffrey M. husband of Julie (Hartman) Gould, Berlin; Sister- Doloros (Thomas) widow of Elwood Day, Somerset. He is also survived by four step grandsons, Joshua Gould, Logan Gould, Allen Hitechew, II and Robert Hitechew, and one step great granddaughter, Savannah Hitechew and a number of nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Thomas and a sister, Esmarelda I. (Thomas) Holland.

Harvey was a member of the Faith Brethren Bible Church.  He served in the US Army as a Corporal in the 2nd Infantry Division 38th Regiment during the Korean War from 1952-1954.  Harvey worked at the Washtenaw Lumber and Hardware Company in Ann Arbor, MI from 1956 until his retirement in 1984.  He was a member of the Somerset VFW Post #554.  Harvey enjoyed wood working, Gospel Music and camping.  He was a wonderful husband, step father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  He will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Brethren Bible Church, New Paris at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 10th, 2017  with Pastor Jim Espenshade officiating.

Interment will be held at Schellsburg Cemetery Schellsburg, PA.  Military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Faith Brethren Bible Church.
