James R. Barnett

Mr. James R. Barnett, 76 of Lincoln Highway, Manns Choice, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Mr. Barnett was born on August 16, 1941 in McKeesport, the son of the late James H. and Ella (Iser) Barnett.

On September 22, 1960, he married Shirley R. (Bowen) Barnett.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Yancy R. Barnett husband of Robin (Mort) Barnett of Bedford, his daughter, Pamela F. Miller wife of Mark D. Miller of Manns Choice, his grandson, Denton J. Griffith, granddaughter, Hope Barnett, brother, Ralph Barnett of Manns Choice and a number of nieces and nephews.

Jim was affiliated with the Tulls Hill Bible Church.  He was previously employed as a supervisor at both the Fairfoot Shoe Factory and at Cannondale.  He retired from Mortimer Electric.  Jim enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and working on race cars.  He was a wonderful husband, a loving father and grandfather, a loyal brother and uncle and a great friend.  Jim will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg with Pastor Stanley Serafin officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
