Mrs. Maxine E. Wambaugh, 96, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, died Monday, October 2nd, 2017 at Delaware Hospice, Milford, DE.

Mrs. Wambaugh was born in Napier Township on September 29, 1921,  the daughter of the late Rush and Georgianna (Miller) Manges.

She was first married to John Kelley.  He preceded her in death on January 3, 1961.  She then married John Frederick "Fred" Wambaugh, Sr.  He preceded her in death on December 6, 2000.

She is survived by  Daughter- Joyce L. (Wambaugh) wife of  Rick Heavener, Keyser, WV; Son- John F. Wambaugh, Jr. husband of  Jane Ann (Hunt) Wambaugh, Burton, MI; Daughter- Deborah L. (Wambaugh) wife of  Anthony Wambaugh, Herndon, VA; Daughter- Doris (Kelley) wife of  Hubert  Mock, Milton, DE; Son- John husband of  Tricia (Mortimore) Kelley, Manns Choice; Sister- Lucille Brailler, Mobile, AL; Brother- James Manges, Painesville, OH; Sister- Janet "Jane" Smith, Newport. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren,  11 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her step mother, Daisy Manges,  her brother, Alfred Manges and her sisters, Dorothy Conrad and Betty Imler.

Maxine was a member of the United Church of Schellsburg and a former member of the Schellsburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  She was a lovely woman and a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Maxine will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg, at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 7th, 2017 with Rev. Dr. Merle Correll officiating.

Interment will be held at Fishertown Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Maxine to the Deleware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19993 or to the United Church of Schellsburg, 210 Vine St., Schellsburg, PA 15559.
