Millard D. "Son" Hillegass

Mr. Millard D. "Son"  Hillegass, 79, of Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, went home to be with the Lord and join his family who are already in Heaven, on Saturday, February 17th, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Mr. Hillegass was born in Renova, Clinton County, on August 12, 1938,  the son of the late Millard C. and Della I. (Lowery) Hillegass.

On September 7. 1957, he married Janet J. (Mowry) Hillegass in Cumberland, MD.  In addition to his wife he is survived by Daughter- Wanda J. wife of Steve Group, Hustontown; Daughter- Cindy A. Littlefield wife of Herb Evans, Manns Choice; Daughter- Missy K Hillegass and fiancé Pat Hinson, Manns Choice; Daughter- Jennifer L. Hillegass and fiancé Sheldon Wilt, Osterburg. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Bobbi Ann and Sonny J. Littlefield and a brother, Donald Hillegass.

Son was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Manns Choice.  He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at PennDOT for 38 years.  Son was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting ginseng.  He was a John Deere fan and a talented woodworker.  Son was a wonderful husband, a loving father, a dedicated grandfather, an amazing uncle and a loyal friend.  He will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg with Rev. Joseph and Cheryl Ward officiating.

Interment will be held at Dry Ridge Cemetery, Manns Choice.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
