Stephen James McCahan, 59, of Everett, passed away on July 25, 2017, at UPMC Bedford Memorial after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on December 28, 1957, to Stephen G. "Mack" and E. Jean McCahan in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. His father preceded him in death in 2014.

Steve married his high school sweetheart, Susan Hood, in 1979.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his three children Stephen, married to Ashley Barkman of Breezewood, Karen and Joshua Henry of New York, and Kevin, married to Sara Clark of New Hampshire, a brother Matthew married to Carla Woy of Breezewood, six grandchildren Ella, Lydia, and Eliza McCahan, Isaiah and Grace Henry, and Tenley McCahan.

Steve was a 1975 graduate of Everett Area High School and was a letterman on the 1972 undefeated Warrior football team. He spent several summers playing catcher for the PennMar Baseball League. He graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Pharmacy in 1980. He worked for Thrift Drug, Windber Hospital, and Rey and Derrick before joining the family business, Everett Pharmacy, opening McCahan's Pharmacy in 1985. He worked there with his father, uncle, and son for over 30 years.

During his life he served the community as a member of the Everett School Board, West Providence Municipal Authority, Rotary Club, Jaffa Shrine, Harrisburg Consistory, Everett Lodge 524 F&A Masons. He was an active lifetime member of the Everett United Methodist Church.

Steve was a lover of Penn State Football, Pittsburgh sports, the rock band KISS, Star Trek, and his dog Quincy.

Steve was a devoted husband, father, pappy, and pharmacist. He never met a person he didn't like and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Everett with Pastor Debi Decker officiating.

Friends are invited to call on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Everett.

Interment will be held at Everett Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Everett Athletics in support of Warrior Baseball.  Donations may be mailed to Everett Area High School c/o Everett Athletic Department 1 Renaissance Circle, Everett, PA 15537
