Josephine T. Suhrie, 93, of Suhrie Hollow Road, Berlin, PA died on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at UPMC Somerset Hospital, Somerset, PA.
Josephine was born in Alleghany Twp., on May 17, 1929, daughter of the late Urban and Irene (Fochtman) Hankinson.
On October 15, 1949, she married Cyril M. Suhrie. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2000.
She is survived by son- Phillip (Kathy) Suhrie, daughter- Theresa (Wayne) Fochtman, son- Leo (Linda) Suhrie, daughter- Elizabeth (Bryan) Bittner, daughter- Debbie (Jim) Fisher, son- Jimmy (Sherrie) Suhrie, daughter- Sharon (Dennis) Hay, son-Randy (Christina) Suhrie, 17 grandchildren- Tammy (Duane) Brick, Alicia (Edward) McCarty, Danielle (Anthony) Bittner, Dustin Bittner, Danielle (Cody) Leslie, Dana (John) Elliot, Kristy Fisher, Aaron (Meghan) Hay, Ryan (Toni) Suhrie, Amanda (Barry) Robertson, Andrew (Melody) Suhrie, Amber (Mathew) Fazenbaker, Kayla Suhrie, Devon Fisher, Tyler (Vanessa) Fisher, Kevin Suhrie and Grace Suhrie and fiancé Kyle, 20 great grandchildren- Luke and fiancé Ashly, Emily, Blaise, Isidora, Skyler, Gracin, Braxton, Aubree, Oliver, Aaliyah, Andreas, Johnathon, Jacob, Jase, Colton, Lincoln, Scarlett, Khaydn, Kameron and Kynlee and sister- Margaret Lynch. Along with her parents and husband Cyril, Josephine was preceded in death by her son- David Suhrie and brothers- Eugene, Charles and Leo Hankinson.
Josephine was a member of the Christian Mothers Group and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.
She loved sewing and sewn 100 blankets as well as sewed all of her daughter's wedding dresses, she also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles but most of all she loved and cherished time with her family.
Josephine was an amazing person who touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
A Viewing will be held Monday, April 24, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg where a Vigil for the deceased will be held.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 10AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore with Father Mark Pattock- Celebrant.
Interment at St. Johns Cemetery.
