Melda M. (Miller) Smith

Melda M. Smith, 80, of Helixville Road, Schellsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Conemaugh Hospital in Johnstown.

She was born in Helixville, on October 21, 1942, daughter of the late Edmund and Gladys (Growden) Miller.

On July 30, 1959, she married her husband Carl E. Smith, who survives, of Schellsburg.

She is survived by son- Ron husband of Carol (Pensyl) Smith, of Schellsburg; son- Terry husband of Debra (Wertz) Smith, of Schellsburg; daughter- Penney wife of Dave Crawford, of Schellsburg; along with six grandchildren: Melissa, Randy, Debra, Amber, Shane, Jared and nine great-grandchildren; brother- Delmas Miller, of Schellsburg; sister- Linda Kot, of Schellsburg. Melda was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren and brother Dean Smith.

Melda attended Chestnut Ridge Fellowship Church.

She worked at Cannondale, the Shoe Factory and Green Gardens. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, going to the beach, her dogs and most importantly her grandkids.

A visitation will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, from 9:30-11 AM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 11 AM at Mickle Geisel Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Miller officiating.

Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, PA.
