Anna E. Herline Swartzwelder, age 97, of Colonial Courtyard, peacefully entered Heaven on November 18. Anna was born in Juniata Twp. on January 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Fred and Vernie Turner.
She was the wife of Harry Herline, whom she married on June 9, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1983. She then married Richard Swartzwelder on September 15, 1993. He preceded her in death on August 13, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra, wife of Don Hoenstine, and two granddaughters, Julie, wife of Travis Livengood, and Faith Hoenstine. She has three great-grandchildren, Sadie, Grey, and Harper Livengood. She was proceeded in death by three brothers and one sister, Homer, Harvey, Robert, and Mae. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Lovella Turner.
Anna cleaned houses in the Bedford area and took great pride in her work. She enjoyed bowling and helping at church dinners and at the Bedford Food Pantry. She loved to volunteer and help people.
She loved spending time with her family and cooking them dinners. Her pies will be truly missed. Her greatest joy was babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna was a member of the Gladeland Parish in Manns Choice and St. John's in Bedford.
Interment will be at Schellsburg Cemetery.
A viewing will be held on Friday, November 21, at 1:00, with a funeral to follow at 2:00 at the Geisel-Styer Funeral Homes in Bedford. Pastor Keith Showalter will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bedford Food Pantry or St. John's Church in Bedford.
