Barbara J. Ritzie

Ms. Barbara J. Ritzie, 83, of Bedford, formerly of DuBois died Saturday, March 25th, 2017 at Pennknoll Village.

Ms. Ritzie was born in Dubois on September 21, 1933,  the daughter of the late William P. and Dorothy (Curry) Kunselman.

She is survived by  Son- Charles W. husband of  Jeannie (Merrell) Ritzie, Reynoldsville; Daughter- Rhonda L. wife of  James Littlefield, Friends Cove; Sister- Karen wife of Jerry Depp, Hazelton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Mark Ritzie and Larissa, DuBois, Keith Ritzie and Athena, Springfield, VA, Chuckie Ritzie and Ashley, DuBois, Darrin Littlefield and Amanda, Friends Cove, Jenna Jones and Cory, Bedford, and Alec Jones, Friends Cove, thirteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was formerly married to the late Charles E. Ritzie. She was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Sroka and a son-in-law, Lance Jones.

Barbara had previously been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Reynoldsville and was honored to be the choir director for many years.   She also taught piano and fostered a love of music in many young people.  Barbara worked in retail as a clerk for several different stores, retiring from Bon-Ton in 2010.  Barbara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be dearly missed.

A graveside service will be held at Morningside Cemetery, DuBois on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Thomas Carr officiating.
