Calvin Elwood Dodson

Mr. Calvin Elwood Dodson, 74, of Short Cut Road, Osterburg, died Sunday, December 19th, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Dodson was born in Claysburg on Saturday, March 14, 1936, the son of the late Albert "Cub" and Vergie (Rodabush) Dodson.

On June 11, 1965 he married Brenda J. (Price) Dodson. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his only Daughter Jill A. wife of Jerry Linton, Osterburg; his beloved granddaughter and special buddy - Sarah; and Sister-in-Law- Eleanor Hoenstine, FL. He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Hoenstine.

Calvin served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was employed at Hedstrom for more than 30 years. Previously, he was employed at Bedford Springs Hotel as a grounds keeper.. In is spare time, Calvin enjoyed attending auctions and was a collector of clocks. Calvin also was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed gardening and his family always looked forward to his crop of tomatoes in the fall. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his family at Ocean City, Maryland.

A funeral service will be held at Jack H. Geisel Funeral Home, Pleasantville. at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21st, 2010 with Rev. Mark Dillow officiating.

Interment at will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
