Catherine V. "Kate" (Shaffer) Beegle

Mrs. Catherine V. "Kate" Beegle, 87, of Egolf Road, Bedford died at 11:57 PM, Friday, March 25th, 2011 at Altoona Hospital.
Mrs. Beegle was born in Point on Wednesday, March 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Guy and Ann (Helsel) Shaffer.
On July 8, 1942, in Cumberland, MD, she married Maynard S. Beegle. He preceded her in death on September 1, 2002.
She is survived by Daughter- Phyllis A. wife of Rick Bollman, Bedford; Son- Gary W. Beegle, Bedford; Brother- Jimmy Shaffer, York; Sister- Edna College, Chambersburg. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Amber.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Callihan and Ada Ruth and by a brother, Paul Shaffer
Kate was a member of the Friends Cove United Church of Christ. She known for taking care of everyone around her and for doting on her only grandchild.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 30th, 2011 with Rev. Paul Claycomb and Rev. Bruce Ashlock officiating.
Interment will be held at Friends Cove United Church of Christ, Bedford.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
