Colleen K. (Kegg) Hollis

Mrs. Colleen K. Hollis, 89, of Preston Street, Bedford, died Sunday, August 28th, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Hollis was born in Manns Choice on Wednesday, February 9, 1927,  the daughter of the late William Kegg and Alma (Suter) Kegg- Lippincott

On April 6, 1947, she married Robert E. Hollis.  He preceded her in death on January 18, 1990.

She is survived by  Son- Gary husband of  Christine (Snyder) Hollis, Bedford; Daughter- Tammy wife of  Gary Waltman, Carlisle; Brother- William husband of  Ruby Kegg, Winchester, TN; Sister- Linda wife of  Tom Futcher, Bedford.  Colleen is also survived by four grandchildren, Micah Hollis and wife,Tara, Kirsten HInson and husband Benjamin, Kiley Smith and husband Mark & Jessica Waltman and by two great grandchildren, Avery & Levi Hinson.  She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Fair, Marian Bowser & Karen Hammer and by two brothers, Roger Kegg & Wayne Kegg.

Colleen was a homemaker and a member of the St. John United Church of Christ in Bedford.  She is also a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113 Ladies Auxiliary.  Colleen was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and she will be greatly missed.

A funeral service will be held at St. John United Church of Christ, Bedford at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 1st, 2016  with Pastor Brady Plummer officiating.

Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at St. John's United Church of Christ, Bedford.
